Workflows & Workarounds

Hell Ya!

Those were my words, the first moment I finally figured out how to work Zapier, or so I thought I did. Soon after, it turned into a, hell no, when SHTF.

Whether you offer 1-1 coaching, energy sessions, webinars, entry to live events, or digital products, you’ll need to set up a workflow for it. Otherwise, you’ll be manually emailing out links and confirmations and hoping you don’t miss anything.

I’ve been working with automation systems for a good few years now, in various roles, and let me tell you, my relationship with them is one of love/hate. Obviously leaning more heavily on the love side, the more I work with them and understand how the hell they work!

What do I love about workflows?

  • The amount of time automation can save you.

  • How one simple automation can seamlessly run a series of complex tasks. ie. tagging a contact, adding them to your CRM, including them in your Mailchimp list, and sending them an email…just as an example.

  • How I feel like a tech wiz when I see my automation work without a hitch.

What do I hate about automation systems?

  • The initial time it takes to understand how the heck they work, and that’s not to mention, actually setting them up.

  • The hair I ripped out when setting up my first few automation sequences.
No hair was actually lost, but if my frustration got the best of me, I would have been bald by now. 👩‍🦲

  • Troubleshooting wonky automation sequences that won’t run when Zapier has a bug.

The above are only a few of the things I love and hate about workflows, there are plenty more things to love and hate, believe me.

I’m sure you have a few similar ones of your own too. Working with workflows, whether they are manual or automatic, is necessary, as we need standard processes in place to run our business. With that said, just because Zapier, Automatic.io, Make.com, IFTTT, and other automation systems are out there, it doesn’t mean you need to jump on the bandwagon and start using them. If you have a smaller business and only offer a service or two, a simple workaround to complicated automations, may be exactly what you need instead.

Whether you’re ready to set up a series of automations for your client packages, use a workaround and simple plugins you already have access to on your website, or if you’re a little lost with setting it up, reach out to me for a little vibrationally aligned assistance.
